Organizations

Group contacts under the companies they belong to.

What is an Organization?

An organization is a company, business, or institution you work with. Organizations group your contacts — for example, multiple employees at the same company are all linked under one organization record.

Viewing Organizations

Go to Organizations in the top menu to see all organizations in your workspace.

You can:

  • Search by organization name
  • Click any organization to open its detail page

Creating an Organization

  1. Click New Organization.
  2. Fill in the details:
    • Name (required)
    • Description — What this company does or how you know them
    • Website — Their web address
    • Industry — The sector they operate in
    • Employee count — Approximate size of the company
    • Contact information — Address, phone, email for the organization itself
  3. Click Save.

Who can create organizations? Owners and Admins only.

Editing an Organization

  1. Open the organization's detail page.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Update any fields and save.

Who can edit organizations? Owners and Admins only.

What You Can See on an Organization's Page

An organization's detail page shows everything connected to that company:

  • Company info (name, website, industry, size)
  • All contacts who work at or are linked to this organization
  • Associated deals and projects
  • Invoices issued to this organization
  • Proposals sent
  • Support tickets
  • Documents shared
  • Notes added by your team
  • Time logged against this client

Adding Contacts to an Organization

You add the organization link from the Contact side, not the organization side.

  1. Go to the contact's detail page.
  2. In the Organizations section, click Add Organization.
  3. Search for and select the organization.

All contacts linked to an organization will appear on that organization's page automatically.

Deleting an Organization

Organizations are soft deleted — removed from your active list but preserved in your audit history. Contacts linked to that organization are not deleted.

Who can delete organizations? Owners and Admins only.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an organization and a contact? An organization represents the company as a whole. A contact is a specific person at that company. One organization can have many contacts.

Can one contact belong to multiple organizations? Yes. A freelancer or consultant might work with several companies simultaneously. You can link a contact to as many organizations as needed, and mark one as their primary organization.

Can I attach files or documents to an organization? Yes. From the organization's detail page you can upload and manage documents associated with that company. Documents can be set as internal-only or shared with the client via their portal.
